Cyber Essentials questions, answered

Straight answers on cost, the difference between CE and CE+, timelines, insurance and how the certificate actually gets issued. Still unsure? Ask us directly.

How much does Cyber Essentials certification cost?
Our Cyber Essentials readiness starts from £320, Cyber Essentials Plus from £999, and a combined CE and CE+ engagement from £1,299. The exact figure depends on the size of your estate; see our pricing page or ask for an exact quote.
What’s the difference between Cyber Essentials and CE+?
Cyber Essentials is self-assessed: you attest that the five controls are in place. Cyber Essentials Plus adds an independent, hands-on technical audit that verifies those controls actually work on a sample of your devices.
How long does it take?
It depends on the size and state of your estate. A well-prepared Cyber Essentials submission can move quickly; CE+ needs remediation time plus scheduling the technical audit. We give you a realistic timeline once we have scoped.
Do I need CE before CE+?
Cyber Essentials Plus builds on the same five controls as Cyber Essentials, and the two are typically pursued together. Our combined package prepares you for both in one coordinated engagement.
Does certification include cyber insurance?
Some Cyber Essentials certifications carry limited cyber liability cover for eligible UK organisations, subject to the scheme’s current terms and eligibility. Treat it as a modest add-on, not a substitute for a proper cyber insurance policy - always check the current conditions.
Is certification annual?
Yes. Cyber Essentials and CE+ are valid for twelve months and must be renewed each year to stay certified. We can support you through renewal and keep your readiness current between assessments.
How do I get started?
Tell us your organisation size and which certification you need via the contact form, or book a short call. We scope the work, send you an exact quote, and map the fastest route to your certificate.
